You work directly with the people making decisions, on systems that organisations genuinely depend on.
What you will do
- Design and implement backend services and APIs for client platforms
- Own data modelling decisions and their long-term consequences
- Review code and raise the standard across the team
- Work directly with clients to turn a messy process into a clear specification
- Mentor mid-level engineers through pairing and structured review
What we are looking for
- Five or more years building production backend systems
- Strong Node.js or Python, with real relational database depth
- Experience designing APIs that other people have to consume
- Comfort with testing as a discipline, not an afterthought
- Clear written communication, because most of our work is asynchronous
